Guwahati, April 22, 2026: The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Guwahati Off-Campus, is set to host the 3rd edition of TISS-G MUN 2026 from May 1 to May 3 at its campus, further positioning the city as an emerging hub for youth-led dialogue and policy engagement in Northeast India.
Organised as part of TISS’s landmark Navati celebrations, commemorating its 90-year legacy of academic excellence and nation-building, the three-day conference will bring together students from schools and colleges across the region and beyond to deliberate on pressing global and national challenges.
Centered around the theme “Dawn: Expanding Horizons,” the conference will encourage participants to critically engage with evolving international, environmental, and socio-economic issues.
The event will simulate high-level diplomatic platforms through four committees:
- United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
- United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
- All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM)
- International Press Corps (IPC)
Each committee will address contemporary concerns ranging from climate justice and cyber security to inclusive economic growth.
TISS-G MUN 2026 aims to foster leadership, negotiation, and critical thinking skills while nurturing socially conscious and globally aware citizens. The conference will also feature structured debates, policy simulations, and collaborative problem-solving exercises, providing participants with a realistic exposure to diplomacy and governance.
With registrations now open, the organisers have extended an invitation to institutions and individual participants to be part of what is steadily emerging as one of Northeast India’s premier Model United Nations platforms.
The event is expected to witness wide participation from academic institutions, further strengthening Guwahati’s position as a center for youth-driven intellectual engagement in the region.
