Awareness Camp for Artisan Shareholders on IndiaHandmade.com

An Awareness Camp for Artisan Shareholders was organised on 23/09/2026 at the CFC Campus, Imphal, Manipur, to create awareness among artisans about uploading and showcasing their handcrafted products on IndiaHandmade.com, the online platform of the Ministry of Textiles, with a view to expanding their market reach and generating business opportunities.
Around 25 artisan shareholders representing different Producer Companies from various parts of Manipur participated in the camp with keen interest and enthusiasm. The participating artisans actively interacted with the officials and expressed their eagerness to understand the process of registering, uploading and displaying their handcrafted products through the online portal.
During the interaction, the Assistant Director (Handicrafts), HSC Imphal, explained that IndiaHandmade.com provides an online marketplace for artisans and producers to showcase their products and reach customers beyond their local markets, thereby creating opportunities for wider business transactions. The artisans were encouraged to make maximum use of the platform and take advantage of the digital opportunities available for promotion and sale of their handcrafted products.
The participating artisans were also assured that the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), through its field office at HSC Imphal, remains committed to extending necessary guidance and support to artisans and Producer Companies whenever required.
The camp highlighted the importance of digital market access, online product visibility and collective participation of artisans in strengthening the handicrafts sector and creating sustainable business opportunities for the artisan community of Manipur.
The Camp have been Organised by M/s Luwangpokpa Handicrafts Producer Company Ltd., Imphal, Manipur M/s North East Indigenous People’s Welfare Association, Guwahati, Assam in association with Handicrafts Service Centre, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Imphal, Manipur.
