Air India flight to Mumbai faces technical issue, causing passengers to be deplaned.

An Air India flight from San Francisco to Mumbai via Kolkata had a technical issue with one engine, causing passengers to be deplaned during a scheduled stop in Kolkata. The flight, AI180, a Boeing 777-200LR, departed from San Francisco International Airport and encountered the engine problem upon its arrival at Kolkata airport at 12:45am, resulting in a delay for the Kolkata to Mumbai leg.

Passengers were asked to disembark around 5:20 am for safety reasons per the captain, with the step taken in the interest of flight safety. Images from Kolkata Airport showed the plane grounded on the runway as airline officials assessed the faulty engine.

Air India’s Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight AI2493 was canceled on Monday due to delays from operational issues. The Airbus A321-211 (VT-PPL) for the flight faced initial unknown delays. Meanwhile, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Ranchi had to turn back after take-off over a suspected technical problem. The Boeing 737 Max 8 was expected to land at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport at 6:20pm.

An Air India flight bound for Delhi from Hong Kong had to return mid-air due to a suspected technical issue on the same day. Flight AI315, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, departed from Hong Kong and was supposed to reach Delhi at 12:20pm. Passengers were safely evacuated, and the aircraft is undergoing safety checks.
