Popular YouTuber Manish Kashyap recently resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) citing discontent with his role. During a Facebook Live session, he explained, “I couldn’t protect myself in the BJP; how could I assist others?” This move follows an incident with junior doctors at Patna Medical College last month.
Kashyap joined BJP last year alongside leaders Manoj Tiwari and Anil Baluni. He ran for Bihar’s Chanpatia Assembly seat in 2020 as Tripurari Kumar Tiwari. While he did not win, Kashyap hints at contesting in future elections as he remains active through other platforms.
Kashyap gained fame for sharing a fake video of Bihar laborers attacked in Tamil Nadu, prompting probes by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and denial from TN CM MK Stalin. TN Deputy General of Police Shailendra Babu confirmed video’s misleading nature.
Later, the Madras High Court granted bail to Kashyap, who was arrested in March for his actions, yet he remains influential in social media and politics. He plans to voice his opinions through diverse platforms moving forward.
