Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee replaces Yusuf Pathan in the parliamentary delegation aimed at promoting India’s anti-terror message worldwide. After Pathan backed out, Union Minister Rijiju consulted West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for guidance, and she recommended her nephew for the role.
Abhishek suggested sending family members or survivors of martyrs instead of party leaders in official delegations to truly honor those who sacrificed for our country, emphasizing the importance of representing with the armed forces and acknowledging the heroes of Operation Sindoor.
The TMC withdrew Pathan from ‘Operation Sindoor’ after stating this was done without their consultation. Abhishek questioned the Union Government’s authority to choose Trinamool’s rep, emphasizing the need for opposition discussions on party representatives.
The Indian government launched the “One Mission, One Message, One Bharat” initiative to combat global misinformation on terrorism post the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. The program involves seven all-party delegations of MPs visiting 30 partner nations to emphasize India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and its response via Operation Sindoor.
