Delhi CM Rekha Gupta attributed the city’s current waterlogging and traffic problems to the previous administration. Post heavy rainfall disruptions on Friday, she visited affected areas, promising active resolutions. Gupta highlighted the ongoing efforts of her government but cautioned that time would be needed to rectify the situation.
Gupta visited the X platform to share her experiences, exploring waterlogged sites like Majnu Ka Tilla in Delhi for damage assessment and relief supervision. The Delhi CM mentioned deploying officials citywide to swiftly address affected areas. Instructions given to officers were clear: identify waterlogged spots in Delhi and provide solutions promptly, as stated on X.
Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma recently addressed waterlogging in the city. He shared a video inspecting the area and reported that four pumps near Minto Bridge were operational to clear stagnant water. Verma mentioned that unseasonal heavy rainfall caused water accumulation in various spots across Delhi.
The Safdarjung station recorded over 77 mm, while other locations saw 78 mm on Lodhi Road, 59.2 mm at Ridge, and 39.4 mm at Ayanagar, with Gurugram getting 17 mm. Daily rainfall of 64.5 mm to 124.4 mm is classified as ‘heavy rainfall’ by IMD. Delhi last experienced such heavy rain on May 20, 2021, with 119.3 mm due to Cyclone Tauktae.
