Bangar disclosed being sexually harassed by prominent cricketers in an interview with Lallantop. She criticized the cricket atmosphere for fostering insecurity and toxic masculinity. Bangar mentioned playing with well-known cricketers like Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Bangar recounted disturbing incidents with star cricketers, including receiving unsolicited nude photos. A veteran player, upon learning about her trans identity, suggested sleeping with her instead of offering support: “I confided in a cricketer in India who responded, ‘Let’s go in the car. I want to sleep with you.’”
Bangar criticized the ICC for banning transgender cricketers from women’s cricket. She warned that such actions could deter athletes and harm the inclusive nature of sports. Bangar called for policies that allow athletes to pursue their passion without sacrificing their identity.
