Hardik Pandya made an impactful return for Mumbai Indians in match 9 against Gujarat Titans, breaking their 78-run partnership by dismissing Shubman Gill in the 9th over after Sai Sudharsan and Gill had given GT a strong start in Ahmedabad.
Gill, a strong presence in the middle, couldn’t capitalize on a short ball from Pandya. He tried a pull shot but connected poorly, sending the ball to deep square leg where Naman Dhir completed a great catch while the ball was in motion.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Gill has faced Pandya in 5 innings, scoring 11 runs off 18 balls, with a strike rate of 61.11. Pandya has dismissed Gill 4 times, averaging just 2.75. Gill has hit one four but no sixes off Pandya, with 12 dot balls.
