Pakistan is bracing for a possible disaster as over 200 of around 500 individuals on the hijacked Jaffar Express are still held by Baloch rebels. Media reports indicate that more than 200 coffins were sent to Bolan from Quetta railway station without official confirmation of the death toll.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) demands the release of all Baloch prisoners and shows no signs of backing down. Military sources report the release of 155 passengers and the killing of 27 militants, with no independent confirmation. Unofficial reports indicate the Baloch rebels are holding hostages at five different sites.
The BLA issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the government to halt military operations, warning of 10 more captive deaths if the actions persist. The situation is critical as militants have positioned suicide bombers near civilians, complicating rescue operations due to the imminent threat.
Minister Talal Chaudhry informed Geo News that about 70-80 terrorists were involved in the attack. He stated that terrorists are currently using women and children as shields, forming small groups with them. Chaudhry alleged that the handlers of the terrorists are in a neighboring country while those funding them are in another. He also suggested that India would likely support these actions.
