During his visit to Gujarat, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused some party members of secretly working for the BJP. He emphasized the need to identify and eliminate them from the state unit. Gandhi warned that he might remove up to 40 leaders to cleanse the party in Gujarat, which has long been under BJP rule.
Gandhi highlighted a division within the Gujarat Congress into two factions: one committed to serving and respecting the people while embracing Congress ideology, and the other disconnected from the people, lacking respect, with half possibly aligning with the BJP. Emphasizing the need to separate these factions for the party’s resurgence in Gujarat.
Gandhi insisted on separating the two groups for the people of Gujarat to trust Congress, asking the party to prioritize compassion over election outcomes. He criticized the BJP government for causing a sense of entrapment and difficulties for key industries, highlighting the struggles of small traders, businesses, and entrepreneurs vital to Gujarat’s economy.
Gandhi underlined the need for a fresh vision after BJP’s 30-year rule flopped. He stated that Congress could offer this new direction but stressed the importance of excluding certain individuals. Acknowledging their 30-year absence from power in Gujarat, he admitted to falling short of people’s expectations during this period.
