A6 Avant signifies Audi's last era of diesel vehicles.

Audi introduced the new A6 Avant, a diesel model marking a shift in their lineup. This executive wagon stands as one of the last diesel cars from Audi and few in the market. Initially heading for an A7 name, it keeps the A6 Avant, distinguishable from the A6 Avant E-Tron EV.

The new A6 Avant features turbo petrol and turbo diesel hybrid powertrains. The TFSI petrol model and TDI diesel model are equipped with 2.0-liter engines producing 201hp. The petrol version provides 340Nm of torque, and the diesel offers a higher 400Nm. Both engines pair with an automatic gearbox; the diesel option additionally has Quattro all-wheel-drive technology.

The new A6 Avant features a more athletic design compared to the previous model, resembling the older S6. The front has a distinct update, including Audi rings above a new grille design, a first for an A6. This estate model is 60mm longer at 4,990mm, with a sleek sloping roofline leading to a sculpted rear end highlighted by a striking light bar.

The new A6 Avant boasts Audi’s familiar interior design, equipped with three screens – an 11.0-inch driver’s display, 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, and an optional 10.9-inch passenger screen. It also offers a ‘dynamic’ sunroof for switching between translucent and clear modes. Audi touts enhanced driving dynamics, including a stiffer torsion bar and control arm bushings for better road feedback and steering response compared to the previous model.

The new A6 Avant will start at £52,510 (approx. ₹60.2 lakh) and go up to £64,480 (around ₹73.7 lakh) for TDI Quattro with Edition One trim. The exact India launch date is undisclosed, but a sedan A6 Avant version is expected soon. The upcoming S6 Avant model will debut in select markets with a 362hp, 3.0-liter turbo V6 petrol hybrid engine.
