The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) updated biometric verification for new GST registrations. Promoters and directors in certain business entities can now verify their biometrics at any GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) in their home state, instead of visiting a specific GSK. This change applies to promoters/directors in specified company types per the promoter/partner tab.
The new biometric authentication for GST applicants offers enhanced convenience. Applicants chosen for biometric verification will get email notifications. Promoters and directors can pick a GSK in their state from the email link. Remember, this choice is final and cannot be altered later.
The new biometric authentication is now available in 33 states and UTs and will expand to Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Sikkim. Applicants who select a GSK will receive a confirmation email with a link to book a slot. Promoters and directors must complete their biometric authentication before the Primary Authorized Signatory visits the GSK; if the PAS is also a promoter/director, they must visit their jurisdictional GSK.
