The Haryana Congress expelled five leaders for six years due to anti-party activities during the 2025 Municipal Corporation Elections. State party chief Udai Bhan announced this decision on Thursday. The expelled leaders are former MLA Rambir Singh, Vijay Kaushik, Rahul Choudhary, Pooja Rani, and Rupesh Malik.
Bhan, in consultation with BK Hariprasad, who oversees party affairs in the state, made the decision. The party order signed by Bhan stated, “After receiving reports through various channels, the following individuals are expelled from the party for 6 years immediately.”
In the past, Haryana Congress has expelled leaders multiple times. Earlier, on February 19, seven leaders including former District Congress Committee presidents Tarlochan Singh and Ashok Khurana, Pradeep Chaudhary, Madhu Chaudhary, Harvinder, and Ram Kishan Sain were expelled for similar reasons. Rara and Singh then joined BJP.
The Haryana State Election Commission will conduct general elections on March 2 for seven municipal corporations including Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, and Yamunanagar. Additionally, elections for four municipal councils and 21 municipal committees will also take place that day. Panipat municipal corporation voting is scheduled for March 9.
