Natalie Portman will star in the rom-com Good Sex, written and directed by Lena Dunham, exploring age-gap relationships. CAA Media Finance has domestic rights, and Film Nation Entertainment manages international rights for the project, which will be showcased at the European Film Market.
In Good Sex, Portman stars as Ally, a therapist reentering the dating scene in NYC at 40. With her friend’s encouragement, Ally grapples with feelings for a younger Brooklynite and an older Manhattanite, torn between passion and a promising connection.
Portman and Sophie Mas will produce Good Sex through MountainA. Dunham and Michael Cohen, under Good Thing Going, will also produce. Portman praised Dunham’s filmmaking skills after viewing Tiny Furniture.
Portman is involved in Guy Ritchie’s Fountain Of Youth and Cathy Yan’s The Gallerist. Dunham is developing the Netflix mini-series Too Much with Will Sharpe and Megan Stalter. Known for Girls, Dunham has also been part of Delusional Downtown Divas and Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood.
