Rupahihat, 2 Jan 2025:– With great pride, Sonaiporiya Handicraft Producer Company Limited announces the successful completion of the one-month Jute Craft Design Development Workshop, the Jute Craft Itapara Majarati Cluster. This important event aims to promote the region’s rich legacy of jute handicraft.
Ms. Purnima Deka, Master Craftperson Purnima Deka, Empanelled Designer Debolina Das, Forest Officer, Nagaon, Safiqul Islam, Principal, Unitarian Jatiya Vidyalaya, Village Head Ramesh Deka, and Nehru Yuva Kendra Volunteers Israfil Ali and Sheikh Salman shared their experiences at the inaugural program, where it was attended 30 numbers of Artisans on Jute Crafts. They encouraged all participating artisans to dedicate themselves to this skill development training program in order to ensure the artisans’ self-sustaining development in the near future and the possibility of choosing this industry as a means of living.
Held in the center of the Itapara Majarati cluster, the event celebrated the rich and varied art of jute crafting by bringing together industry stakeholders, craft enthusiasts, and skilled artisans. Traditional jute craft has long been a focal point in the cluster, and this festival gave craftspeople a chance to connect with wider markets while showcasing their work.
