Zepto now delivers medicines within 10 minutes.

Zepto, a key figure in quick commerce, now offers a “pharmacy and wellness” section on its app in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. Users can buy prescription and OTC medicines. The company added a prescription verification system for legal compliance.

Zepto introduced a teleconsultation feature in addition to the prescription verification system to assist users lacking prescriptions but in need of medical guidance or medication. This expansion aligns with Zepto’s strategy to broaden its services and cater to various consumer needs.

Zepto is venturing into pharmacy and wellness, mirroring the trend observed in quick commerce. Swiggy Instamart partnered with PharmEasy for healthcare and lab services. Similarly, Flipkart Health Plus and Tata 1mg collaborated with Tata BigBasket’s BBNow for pharmaceutical deliveries.

Traditional online pharmacies are improving delivery services to compete effectively. Apollo 24/7 and Blinkit, owned by Zomato, have launched fast services like quick delivery and a 10-minute ambulance service in Gurugram. These show the increasing competition and innovation in quick commerce.
