Star Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to stay with Mumbai and has withdrawn his request to move to Goa. In April, he had applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for personal reasons but recently informed the Mumbai Cricket Association that he no longer needs the NOC as his family’s relocation plans have been called off.
In his email, Jaiswal requested the MCA to withdraw his NOC due to canceled family plans to relocate to Goa. He asked the MCA to permit him to play for Mumbai this season, clarifying that he hadn’t submitted the NOC to the BCCI or Goa Cricket Association.
Initially attracted to Goa due to a leadership role offer after a successful start in Tests, Jaiswal said, “Goa offers a chance for leadership. My aim is to perform for India first, and when not on national duty, I’ll play for Goa and aim for deep tournament runs.”
Jaiswal left Suriyawan to pursue cricket in Mumbai at 11, achieving national fame with a Vijay Hazare Trophy double century leading to an IPL contract with Rajasthan Royals. He boasts 1,798 runs in 19 Test matches for India at an impressive 52.88 average, comprising four tons and 10 half-centuries.
