Bangalore: A woman named Simi Nair has been booked in Bengaluru for allegedly destroying a traditional Onam flower arrangement (pookalam) in her apartment complex. The incident took place at Monarch Serenity, an apartment located on Thanisandra Main Road in the city’s R K Hegde Nagar area.

The flower arrangement, part of the Onam festival celebrations, was prepared by residents of the complex to mark the occasion. Onam, an important festival for Keralites, is celebrated with grand floral decorations that symbolize prosperity and unity. However, tensions escalated when the woman, a resident of the building, reportedly destroyed the pookalam, leading to an outcry from other residents.

The reasons behind her actions are unclear, but reports suggest that the woman may have had personal grievances with the celebration or the people organizing it. The apartment’s residents, upset by the incident, approached local authorities, who registered a case against her. Video footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing the woman dismantling the floral decoration.
