TVS Motor prepares to unveil an affordable electric scooter before the festive season, expected to be priced below the base iQube 2.2 and positioned lower in their lineup. The new model will expand their iQube range, adding to the existing five variants across three battery capacities.
In 2020, the TVS iQube became a top-selling EV in India, offering models ranging from ₹1 lakh for the 2.2kWh version to nearly ₹2 lakh for the 5.1kWh variant. The new budget-friendly scooter is expected to have a more basic design with fewer features and a smaller battery compared to earlier models.
TVS introduces a new electric scooter in response to reduced subsidies and rising inflation, aiming to offer a cost-effective option in the market. The model is anticipated to feature a Bosch hub-mounted motor similar to the iQube, although specific details remain undisclosed at present.
TVS plans to launch an entry-level electric scooter before the festive season to meet demand. The new model is expected to be priced between ₹90,000 and ₹1 lakh, with simplified features compared to the iQube and a 2.2kWh or similar battery pack. The e-scooter’s name is still a secret.
