Toronto-Delhi Air India flight diverted because of lavatory problem.

On May 2, an Air India flight from Toronto to Delhi diverted to Frankfurt due to lavatory issues mid-flight. This is the second incident of its kind involving Air India in two months.

AI188, a Boeing 777, diverted to Frankfurt after a six-hour flight due to a lavatory malfunction. Air India prioritizes safety, confirmed by a spokesperson, though details about the malfunction cause remain undisclosed.

After a brief repair pause, the plane continued its journey, landing in Delhi on May 3 evening, departing Toronto at 6:14 pm. A previous incident in March involved an Air India flight from Chicago to Delhi, returning due to inoperative lavatories after over 10 hours.

On a March flight from Chicago, an Air India aircraft had to turn back over Greenland due to almost all toilets malfunctioning, except for one in business class, leading to limited access for over 340 passengers after flying for over 10 hours. The plane returned to O’Hare International Airport.
