Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi after a brief stay for stomach issues. She was admitted Thursday morning, stabilized during a routine check-up, and discharged following observation. The hospital confirmed her admission at 8:30am in an official statement.
“She was admitted today for an abdomen issue, but there are no major concerns and she is likely to be discharged by tomorrow morning, as per Dr. Ajay Swaroop of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Gandhi, aged 78 in December 2024, was last seen during the recent Rajya Sabha Budget session.”
Her health has hampered her political engagements, leading to reduced activity. She didn’t run for Lok Sabha in 2023; Rahul Gandhi won her Rae Bareli seat. Gandhi visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for a fever in September 2024 and for poor health in March 2024.
