Acclaimed actor Rajkummar Rao’s action-thriller “Maalik” is set to release on June 20, featuring him in a gangster role for the first time. The makers announced the release date on his Instagram with a poster showing Rajkummar standing on a jeep holding an AK-47 in front of a line of trucks. The caption hints at the movie’s impact on both the state and the nation as they gear up for Rajkummar’s portrayal. Directed by Pulkit, who previously worked on “Dedh Beegha Zameen” and “Bose,” the film promises an intriguing cinematic experience.
On the actor’s 40th birthday, Rajkummar unveiled the poster and film title, “Maalik. Paida nahi ho sakta ban toh sakta hai,” at the event. The caption for a filming update last year read, “#Maalik ki duniya mein aapka swagat hai. Shoot shuru ho chuka hai, jald hi mulaqat hogi!” Produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani, “Maalik” stars Rajkummar in his 30th film since his 2010 debut, garnering accolades like the National Award. He began his acting journey with “Love Sex Aur Dhokha” after graduating from FTII.
He appeared in movies like “Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2” and “Talaash: The Answer Lies Within” before finding success in 2013 with “Kai po Che!” and “Shahid”. Subsequently, he starred in a string of films including “Queen”, “Aligarh”, “Bareilly Ki Barfi”, “Trapped”, “Newton”, “The White Tiger”, “Ludo”, “Monica, O My Darling”, “Badhaai Do”, “Stree 2”, and “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” alongside Triptii Dimri.
