Singer Raja Kumari, known for hits like ‘City Clums’ and ‘Jawan Title Track’, released her album ‘Kashi to Kailash’. Inspired by Lord Shiva, she described this project as deeply personal and spiritual, stating that it was Bholenath who guided her towards spirituality.
Intrigued by spirituality after a transformative moment when her tour got canceled, she felt compelled to create this album. Guided by visions of Kedarnath Temple and an encounter with Lord Shiva, she embraced surrender as her path forward. The album, linked to Maha Shivratri, showcases her journey marked by faith, devotion, and transformation, drawing on her classical background, notably in ‘The Destroyer’.
She explained her fondness for Shiv Tandav, a childhood dance she loved. Dressing as Shiva and enacting creation and destruction were integral to her. She included jati from her childhood compositions as a tribute to her training. Ensuring correct Sanskrit pronunciation, she emphasized the unique energy of speaking the words accurately.
Maha Shivratri holds deep personal significance for Raja Kumari. She meditates throughout the night, embracing the high-frequency energies of this sacred time. Inspired by Shiva and Parvati’s love story, she observes the Sola Somvaar Vrat and hopes her album becomes part of people’s celebrations.
