Jan Suraaj Party Chief Prashant Kishor criticized the NDA government’s recent Budget allocations for Bihar, highlighting the disparity between Bihar’s share and the investments in other states like Gujarat. Kishor’s comments came on Friday, when 30 Bihar MPs met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to thank him for the allocations in the Union Budget 2025. The budget includes provisions for new airports, infrastructure projects, and the establishment of a Makhana Board to boost foxnut production and marketing in Bihar.
While speaking at the Yuva Samvad programme in Bihar, Kishor criticized the NDA government for neglecting Bihar. He pointed out the stark contrast between the major industrial projects being established in Gujarat and the limited initiatives, like a Makhana Board and two airports only on paper, provided to Bihar from the Rs 45 lakh crore national budget.
“The Central government relies on Bihar’s MPs for support, yet Bihar only receives symbolic projects like the Makhana Board and two airports. In contrast, other states obtain significant projects like space centres and steel factories, leaving Bihar dissatisfied. Kishor criticized the NDA for the inadequate airport infrastructure in Bihar, comparing it unfavorably to Andhra Pradesh’s eight airports serving a smaller population. He highlighted the substandard condition of Patna Airport, emphasizing the urgent need for improvement.”
The Jan Suraaj Party Chief’s comments contribute to the ongoing debate about Bihar’s Budget allocations, with political leaders disagreeing on whether the state is receiving a fair portion of central funding.
