PM Leaves for 3-Day US Trip to Participate in Quad Summit Hosted by Biden

New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for a 3-day trip to the United States to participate in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit. The summit, hosted by U.S. President Joe Biden, will take place in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden’s hometown. This important meeting will bring together the leaders of India, the U.S., Japan, and Australia, strengthening the Quad’s cooperation on regional and global issues.

The Quad, formally known as the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, is a strategic alliance of these four nations, aimed at promoting peace, stability, and security in the Indo-Pacific region. The fourth edition of the summit is expected to focus on a wide range of topics, including climate change, emerging technologies, defense cooperation, and strengthening supply chains.

During the summit, leaders will discuss their shared vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific, especially as tensions rise in the region due to various geopolitical developments. The summit is seen as a crucial step in bolstering security ties and ensuring a unified approach to challenges posed by other regional powers.

Prime Minister Modi, in a statement before his departure, emphasized the importance of the Quad partnership in addressing global challenges. “Our collaboration through the Quad platform continues to grow in depth and substance. I look forward to engaging with my fellow leaders on how we can further enhance peace, stability, and economic progress in our region,” he said.

In addition to participating in the summit, PM Modi is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with other Quad leaders, including President Biden. These discussions will likely cover economic cooperation, defense partnerships, and technology exchanges.

This summit will mark another significant milestone in India’s growing role on the global stage. It was also announced that India will host the next Quad Summit, highlighting the country’s pivotal position in shaping the alliance’s future agenda.
