Silpi Divas, observed annually on January 17, commemorates the death anniversary of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, a luminary in Assamese culture. Agarwala was a multifaceted artist playwright, poet, musician, and filmmaker fondly known as the “Rupkonwar” (Cultural Prince) of Assam.
Today, the students and teachers of Rongnihang English L.P. School in Diphu gathered to honour Silpi Divas the cherished memory of a beloved individual. They celebrated by lighting diyas, held a poetry and drawing competition symbolizing the enduring light of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala’s legacy, and celebrated the profound impact it has on the school community.
