NEET-PG 2025 scheduled for August 3 in a single shift.

The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBE) can now reschedule NEET-PG 2025 to August 3. This decision was made by the Supreme Court bench of Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Augustine George Masih. Originally set for June 15, the exam was delayed due to a court order requiring it to be held in a single shift instead of two.

The NBE requested an extension on June 3 to increase exam centers from 450 to 900 due to the high number of over 2.5 lakh candidates in one shift. TCS, the board’s technology partner, recommended August 3 as the earliest feasible exam date.

During the hearing, Justices Mishra and Masih questioned the extensive delay, asking why the need for such a long period until August 3. They highlighted that the process had not even begun since the order on May 30, expressing concerns about the two-month delay. The NBE’s counsel clarified that the time-consuming tasks of identifying new centers and ensuring security arrangements were causing the delay.

During the hearing, Justices Mishra and Masih raised questions about the significant delay until August 3, emphasizing that the process hadn’t started since the May 30 order, citing worries over the two-month delay. The NBE’s counsel explained that identifying new centers and ensuring security measures were leading to the delay.

The NBE’s application noted logistical challenges like arranging over 1,000 centers and infrastructure for around 2.7 lakh candidates. Candidates will receive test city details two weeks before the exam, with admit cards given four days in advance. Additional manpower needed includes invigilators, security staff, and network administrators.
