Meta is set to introduce 6 new wearable AI devices this year.

Meta is set to make a significant stride in AI this year. An internal memo by Andrew Bosworth unveiled plans to release six new AI wearables by 2025, aligning with CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s aim to sell millions and, eventually, billions of AI glasses.

A memo titled “2025: The Year of Greatness” was leaked from Business Insider. In the memo, Bosworth revealed Meta’s plans to launch more AI-powered wearables. The message was shared with staff members in November. Bosworth highlighted the importance of boosting sales, retention, and engagement, especially in mixed reality.

Meta is set to break its hardware records by releasing six new AI wearables in one year. This follows the launch of the updated Ray-Ban Meta glasses and Meta Quest 3S. Zuckerberg suggested “third-generation” smart glasses during an earnings call, showing Meta’s dedication to advancing this technology.

Rumors suggest Meta is creating Oakley-branded AR glasses for athletes, codenamed Hypernova with a heads-up display. Meta may also introduce different styles, like Ray-Ban smart glasses, such as “Wayfarer,” “Headliner,” and “Skyler,” as per Gizmodo.

Despite a user engagement decline from 500,000 to 200,000 in 2022, Meta persists in focusing on its metaverse vision and Horizon Worlds. Bosworth emphasized the critical role of Horizon Worlds on mobile, stating its importance for long-term plans. He noted that Horizon Worlds could be groundbreaking or risky, showcasing the company’s boldness in this endeavor.
