In a social media post, BSP chief Mayawati criticized Rahul Gandhi’s comments on her party’s strategy and accused Congress of being BJP’s ally. She alleged that this alliance helped BJP win power in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Mayawati’s comments came in response to Gandhi’s disappointment over her decision not to ally with the Congress against the BJP. Gandhi expressed his wish for her cooperation during a conversation with Dalit students in Rae Bareli, highlighting the potential of a united front with Mayawati’s BSP and the Samajwadi Party to counter the BJP.
Mayawati accused Congress of double standards, criticizing the party for being hostile to BSP in strong states and engaging in deceptive alliances in weaker areas like Uttar Pradesh. She urged Gandhi to self-reflect before criticizing others, especially her leadership. In response to Gandhi’s remarks, BSP workers protested in Raebareli, alleging double standards and deception among Dalit communities.
Mayawati criticized past Congress alliances for not reciprocating BSP support, leading to party defeats. She highlighted that Congress and BJP historically opposed Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s ideals and the constitution’s welfare goals. Posters in Rae Bareli warned Gandhi to apologize, or face repercussions from the Dalit community.
