Mahindra's newest electric vehicles, BE 6 and XUV 9E, are ready for booking.

Mahindra has opened bookings for its new EVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e. The BE 6 competes with Tata Curvv EV, while the XEV 9e rivals BYD Atto3 and upcoming Tata Harrier EV. Mahindra has been successful in the mid-size ICE SUV segment. These new models mark a key move in their EV strategy, reflecting their commitment to India’s growing EV market.

In mid-March, Mahindra plans to deliver the top-spec BE 6 and XEV 9e variants, with base variant deliveries starting in August. Prior to this, 1,837 units were sent to dealers in January. Combined production reached 2,281 units last month, a notable achievement in the electric car market.

Mahindra holds the third spot in the electric segment with the XUV400 selling 7,104 units in CY2024. BE 6 and XEV 9e, sharing the same platform, offer akin battery options and electric motor. BE 6 has five variants, while XEV 9e comes in four. The top variants feature a 79kWh battery, with the rest having a 59kWh pack.

Both BE 6 and XEV 9e excel with top ARAI certified ranges; BE 6 covers 556km (59kWh) and 682km (79kWh), XEV 9e slightly less at 542km (59kWh) and 656km (79kWh). Mahindra assures over 500km real-world city range with AC on for both. BE 6 costs ₹18.9-26.9 lakh, XEV 9e between ₹21.9-30.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
