Maharashtra takes priority over personal conflicts as Thackeray cousins hint at reconciliation.

Both Raj and Uddhav Thackeray, despite past political differences, are now prioritizing Maharashtra’s language and culture over politics. The Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders have recently emphasized this unity for the state’s greater interest. Formerly separated in 2005, Raj established the MNS.

Raj highlighted in a recent podcast that major issues overshadow small disputes among the Marathi people. He left Shiv Sena with MLAs and MPs, preferring to work independently due to his loyalty to Balasaheb. While he was open to working with Uddhav, he questioned the other side’s willingness to collaborate with him.

Uddhav, like his cousin, showed willingness to reconcile for Maharashtra’s interest. However, he set a condition: if they had united in Parliament against industries moving to Gujarat, a government for Maharashtra could have been formed. “We can’t keep switching sides — supporting them one day, opposing them the next, and then compromising again,” Uddhav stated.
