Guwahati, Dec. 31: Anoushka Baruah and Dr. Sangita Kakati, both from Assam, were engaged to compose a special duet song for the Kho-Kho World Cup, which will be held at the IGI Stadium in New Delhi from January 13 to 19, 2024. As the title song for the Kho-Kho World Cup, an Indigenous game in India, Dr. Sangita Kakati composed and arranged the English-language song. The same song has been made available on social media as part of the tournament’s promotional campaign, and it will be played from the opening until the closing ceremonies.
With hopes of making it to the 2036 Olympic Games, the Kho-Kho Federation of India (KKFI) will organize the Kho-Kho World Cup in collaboration with the Indian Olympic Association. This historic event will bring India’s traditional sport to a worldwide audience. According to a statement released by the Kho-Kho Federation of India (KKFI) and the Indian Olympic Association, 40 teams from 24 Nations will compete in the Kho-Kho World Cup.
Under the leadership of KKFI president Sudhanshu Mittal, proper plan have been executed and necessary preparations are underway to ensure the tournament’s success.
It is also known that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been appointed as the brand ambassador, with emerging actor Tiger Shroff serving as co-brand ambassador for this Kho-Kho World Cup. Popular actors Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan, and Vivek Oberoi will also lend their presence to the event, alongside Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra, who is actively promoting the tournament.
