Joe Rogan criticized Donald Trump for specific reasons.

Podcast host Joe Rogan, a staunch Donald Trump supporter, surprised his audience by criticizing the US President. Rogan condemned the deportation of Andry Jose Hernandez Romero, a Venezuelan gay makeup artist and hairdresser seeking asylum in the US due to fear of persecution for his sexual orientation and political beliefs. US immigration officials cited Romero’s crown tattoos as evidence of his alleged involvement with a Venezuelan gang.

Romero, deported from Texas to an El Salvador prison branded as “one of the worst places in the world,” is part of Trump’s massive deportation efforts. Rogan, who supported Trump, condemned the unjust deportation of non-criminals in a recent podcast episode. Besides Romero, the government has also sent more than 200 Venezuelans to El Salvador in the past weeks.

Rogan warned that mass deportations could alienate Trump supporters. He emphasized the importance of showing compassion by giving the example of not deporting gay asylum seekers and incarcerating them in El Salvador.

Conservative voices, like Ann Coulter, have also criticized Trump’s actions, such as questioning the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University student involved in pro-Palestinian demonstrations.
