Foreign Portfolio Investors injected ₹17,424.88 crore into the Indian stock market this week as per NSDL data. However, concerns emerged following a tragic incident in Kashmir involving terrorists targeting tourists, stirring geopolitical uncertainties and market volatility.
Despite a recent increase in funds, the net FPI investment for April is negative, with a net outflow of ₹5,678 crore based on NSDL data. Though there was a significant inflow earlier in the month, it was insufficient to offset previous outflows in the same period.
In 2025, foreign investors withdrew a significant sum from Indian markets, totaling ₹1,22,252 crore this year. Despite sturdy global markets and strong earnings, continued border tensions may hinder Indian market performance in the near future.
