Hyundai from India has reached 37 lakh unit exports and plans to increase car production for global markets.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), a top automobile manufacturer, marked 25 years of exports from India, solidifying its leading position in the sector. Having started in 1999, the company has exported over 3.7 million vehicles worldwide. This reflects India’s endeavor for competitive automobile manufacturing. Hyundai has now reached over 150 countries with its car exports.

Hyundai exported 158,686 vehicles in 2024 to 60 nations, with top markets being Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Peru. The i10 family exceeded 1.5 million units in overseas sales, and the VERNA series reached 500,000 exports. A milestone was achieved by exporting over 1 million vehicles to Africa. Hyundai Motor India Limited is the largest exporter of passenger vehicles from India cumulatively, says Unsoo Kim, Managing Director-HMIL.

Kim mentioned the increasing trust in Indian engineering and craftsmanship globally, reflecting the country’s progress. He highlighted the commitment to produce smart mobility solutions under the ‘Make in India, Made for the World’ initiative in alignment with the vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’. Policies like PLI and FAME have boosted investments in vehicle manufacturing and exports.

The automobile manufacturer’s net profit in Q3 FY25 was Rs 1,161 crore, a 19% decrease from Rs 1,425 crore in the same quarter of FY 2023-24. Revenue from operations also fell by 1.3% to Rs 16,648 crore in Q3, compared to Rs 16,875 crore in the previous year’s corresponding quarter.
