Chennai Super Kings will play Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 Match 3 at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. Greater Chennai Police have implemented tight security measures. Police Commissioner A. Arun is overseeing arrangements. Over 500 police personnel will be deployed at Chepauk Stadium and key city locations for the high-profile match.
In a bid to enhance spectator safety, the Greater Chennai Police introduced a new system called ‘Chennai Singam IPL QR Code’ for reporting security concerns instantly by scanning a QR code. This system aims to streamline crowd management and enable quick emergency responses during matches. With thousands set to attend, this technology ensures a safer match-day experience at the seven upcoming matches in Chennai on March 23, 28, April 5, 11, 25, and 30 at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The Chennai Traffic Police have set traffic diversions and parking rules for match days from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Cars with passes can only park in designated areas. Private vehicles should take specific roads to park near Marina Beach Service Road and walk to the stadium using subways. Taxis, autorickshaws, and chauffeur-driven cars can drop passengers near the stadium on Wallajah Road via Anna Salai, then proceed to park at Sivananda Salai. Mini-buses and MTC buses will use Swamy Sivananda Salai for pick-up and drop-off as they are restricted from Wallajah Road.
Spectators can enter the stadium via Press Club Road. Victoria Hostel Road allows entry only from Bharathi Salai, with no access from Wallajah Road. Bells Road operates as a one-way street, and vehicles heading from Ratna Cafe toward Kamarajar Salai will be redirected at the Bells Road-Wallajah Road junction. It’s recommended to use public transport, with easy access from MRTS Chepauk Railway Station and Government Estate Metro Station. MTC buses will provide complimentary rides for match ticket holders three hours before and after each game, excluding AC buses.
The MTC has set up special buses and shuttles funded by Chennai Super Kings to help fans get home after the tournament. Buses will run from key locations near the stadium like Anna Square Bus Stand, Madras University Bus Stop, and Omandurar Government Medical College. There will also be shuttles between Anna Statue and the stadium. Fans are encouraged to use these services for a hassle-free match-day experience.
