Guwahati, Assam, 24th February 2026: Guwahati will host the Fit India Carnival 2026 from February 26 to February 28 at Arya Vidyapith College Ground, Birubari, as part of the nationwide Fit India Movement. Launched on August 29, 2019, by the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Movement seeks to make fitness an integral part of daily life and promote a more physically active society.
Recognised as one of the country’s largest fitness celebrations, the Fit India Carnival witnessed massive participation in the national capital, New Delhi, last year. Building on that success, the festival is now expanding across the country, reaching diverse regions and communities. As part of this nationwide outreach, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Guwahati is organising the carnival with a distinctive regional flavour, blending fitness with the cultural vibrancy of the Northeast.
Envisioned as a flagship fitness and wellness festival, the event promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, nutrition awareness and traditional sports through interactive and accessible activities.
Designed as a multi-generational celebration, the three-day programme will feature curated sessions for participants across age groups, including Zumba, Yoga workshops, structured exercise routines, interactive fitness challenges and traditional games conducted by certified trainers.
The carnival will also showcase a Northeast cultural presentation representing all eight states, a live Bihu performance, band performances featuring Assamese, Hindi and English chartbusters, and DJ sessions across all three days.
Speaking about the event, the official authority of SAI Guwahati said, “Fit India Carnival 2026 is more than a fitness event. It inspires individuals and families to prioritise health and celebrate wellness together. We invite everyone to join this collective celebration of fitness.”
The event is expected to attract students, families and fitness enthusiasts from across Assam and the Northeast region.
