Rashtrapati Bhavan, India’s President’s official residence, will host its first-ever wedding ceremony on February 12, featuring CRPF Assistant Commandant Poonam Gupta, posted at the estate, and CRPF officer Avneesh Kumar from Jammu & Kashmir. President Droupadi Murmu approved the private event for close family members under tight security.
Gupta, a Shivpuri native with an impressive academic and professional background, holds degrees in Mathematics, English Literature, and Education from Jiwaji University, Gwalior. She ranked 81st in the 2018 UPSC CAPF exam and previously served in Naxal-affected areas of Bihar before her current role at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Gupta rose to national fame leading the all-women contingent at the 74th Republic Day Parade. President Murmu was impressed by her dedication and arranged a special wedding at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Gupta is also active on social media, sharing motivational messages and work updates on platforms like Instagram.
