EOW confirms no complaints against Preity Zinta in New India Cooperative Bank scam.

The Mumbai EOW confirmed that Preity Zinta is not being investigated in relation to the New Cooperative Bank scam and the questioned Rs. 18 crore loan. EOW stated that there are no complaints against the actress and she is not part of any ongoing inquiries. They clarified that social media discussions about her have not led to any investigations into her involvement.

The EOW focuses primarily on investigating the Rs. 122 crore embezzlement by bank officials which is central to the scam. Preity, the actress, remains unaffected by the probe. She accused the Congress party’s Kerala unit of spreading fake news using her name for their political gain. This response follows reports linking her to a bank loan from the collapsed New India Cooperative Bank.

The Kerala Congress accused the actress of aiding the BJP and receiving an Rs 18 crore loan written off by the government without proper recovery procedures. They claimed that the bank’s collapse led to depositors demanding their money. In response, Preity Zinta refuted the allegation and accused the Congress of spreading fake news. She clarified that the loan was taken and repaid in full over a decade ago to avoid any future misunderstanding.

When corruption was exposed at the New India Cooperative Bank, the actress’ name was linked, causing the bank’s collapse and prompting strict RBI restrictions.
