Empowering Artisans: 50 Hand Embroidery and Artistic Textile Craft Tool Kits Distributed in Tikrikilla, Meghalaya

Tikrikilla, Meghalaya | (04.02.2025)– Astha Handicrafts Producer Company Ltd., in collaboration with the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, successfully organized a tool kit distribution program for artisans specializing in hand embroidery and artistic textile crafts. The event took place at LP School, Tikrikilla, Meghalaya, where 50 artisans received essential tool kits to enhance their craft and livelihood.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome speech by Shri Debashis Das, Director of Astha Handicrafts Producer Company Ltd. The event was graced by Shri T. Ch. Rabha, Retired Official, Sericulture and Weaving Department, Govt. of Meghalaya, as the Chief Guest, along with Shri Erip Sangma, President, MGNREGS, Ghaguapara. Additionally, Smt. Khusbu Rabha, HPO, HSC, DC (Handicrafts), Shillong Meghalaya, represented the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and addressed the artisans, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the growth of the handicrafts sector.

This initiative aims to provide artisans with the necessary tools to refine their skills, increase productivity, and sustain their traditional crafts. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all 50 artisans, making it a grand success.
