Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader, is set to visit the United States on April 21-22. His itinerary includes a speaking engagement at Brown University in Rhode Island. Pawan Khera of Congress’s media announced the visit. During the trip, Gandhi will connect with the Indian diaspora, NRIs, and members of the Indian Overseas Congress.
Gandhi’s upcoming U.S. visit will be his first since Trump’s presidency began this year. During his visit, he plans to visit renowned universities like Harvard, Columbia, and Brown. A potential loss of $510 million in federal funds looms over Brown due to alleged inaction against antisemitism, warned by the Trump administration.
The upcoming trip follows his recent visit to the US in September, where he engaged with students at the University of Texas and the Indian diaspora. Brown University, a prestigious Ivy League research institution founded in 1764, is located in Providence, Rhode Island, ranking as the seventh-oldest US higher education establishment.
