Donyi-Polo Govt. College, Kamki (DPGC) was accredited with a 2.22 CGPA on a seven-point scale and has been awarded Grade B by the prestigious National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The grade is valid until 20th February 2030. With this accreditation, DPGC has completed the third cycle of NAAC assessment. The college previously underwent NAAC accreditation twice, first in 2006 and the second in 2014.
Earlier, A 3-member NAAC team visited the college on 10th-11th February. The team was led by Dr. Seetharama Rao Kusumba, Former Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad, as Chairperson. The team also included Dr. Ramesh Chandra Joshi, Professor and Head, the Department of Geography, DSB Campus, Kumaon University, Nainital, as Member Coordinator, and Dr. Sasim Kabiraj Thakur, Principal of Govt. Union Christian Training College, Berhampore, West Bengal as Member. During the assessment, the team evaluated the college’s infrastructure, academic programs, research activities, institutional best practices and various other parameters. The team also a conducted thorough peer review, campus visits, and feedback from various stakeholders, ensuring an all-encompassing assessment of the college’s capabilities.
Principal Dr Gindu Borang, while sharing the news and congratulating the staff, faculty, students, alumni, parents, and the Kamki Village community for their collective efforts, emphasized that this accreditation serves as motivation to further enhance academic programs, student support services, and research initiatives.
At the core of the accreditation process was the 9-member IQAC team, led by Nyaglen Gadi (Coordinator) and Duli Ete (Deputy Coordinator), who revitalized the cell and successfully managed the NAAC accreditation process after a decade. The DPGC NAAC Committee, headed by Dr. Tunge Lollen as Coordinator with Sange Tsering as Deputy Coordinator, was crucial in the successful completion of the accreditation and assessment process.
DPGC effectively upheld and defended its NAAC grade, demonstrating its continued commitment to quality education and institutional development.
