Mumbai – With the popular band Coldplay set to perform in Mumbai this January, hotels near DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai are witnessing a surge in prices, with some charging up to ₹5 lakh for a three-night stay. The band’s concerts are scheduled for January 18, 19, and 21, and fans from across the country and abroad are flocking to the city, leading to a high demand for accommodation.
Most hotels, especially five-star properties in the vicinity of the stadium, are fully booked for the concert dates. Some remaining rooms are being offered at exceptionally high prices, with premium hotels quoting up to ₹5 lakh for a three-night package. Even mid-range hotels and budget accommodations are seeing steep price hikes as concert-goers scramble for rooms.
Fans are expressing shock at the inflated rates, but with limited options available, many are opting to stay in hotels farther from the venue or using alternative accommodations like homestays or rented apartments. However, despite the high prices, Coldplay enthusiasts are excited about the chance to see the band live in India, a rare opportunity for many.
DY Patil Stadium, which has hosted major international concerts in the past, is gearing up for the massive crowd expected over the three days. The stadium can accommodate over 50,000 people, and with Coldplay’s global popularity, all tickets for the concerts sold out quickly after going on sale.
The rise in hotel prices has added to the overall cost of attending the concert, but for many die-hard fans, the experience of seeing Coldplay perform live is worth the expense.
