Clogged toilets caused Chicago-Delhi Air India flight to return.

An Air India flight had to turn back to Chicago as most toilets got clogged, leaving only one working in business class. This limited access for over 340 passengers, prompting the return to O’Hare International Airport after 10 hours in the air over Greenland.

After the landing, passengers and crew disembarked normally and were assisted by Air India to minimize inconvenience. The carrier later mentioned that it is arranging alternative flights for the passengers. The decision to return was made due to nine out of ten lavatories being backed up on the Boeing 777-300 ER jet, with only one business class lavatory functional, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Air India offered refunds for the canceled flight, but customers faced difficulty in rescheduling or obtaining refunds. A customer expressed frustration on View From The Wing as they navigated challenges with Avianca, Lifemiles, and Air India to receive a refund for a miles ticket.
