Guwahati, Assam, January 1, 2025 – Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd. (ASIDC) inaugurated the highly anticipated Zila Udyam Samagam today, a platform aimed at empowering entrepreneurs registered under Udyam and MSME to showcase and sell their products. The event, held at Chandubi, Kamrup, Assam, is organized under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme, a World Bank-assisted central sector initiative. The event coincides with the culturally vibrant Chandubi Festival and will run from January 1 to January 5, 2025.
The program was graced by Shri Tankeswar Rabha, Chief Executive Member of the Rabha Hasong Development Council, as the Chief Guest. Representing ASIDC, Shri Narayan Baruah, Deputy Manager (Administration), and Shri Abdul Hamid, Deputy Manager, were also present, lending their support to the initiative.
The opening day of Zila Udyam Samagam witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 10,000 attendees visiting the venue. Entrepreneurs from diverse fields participated, including artisans showcasing exquisite handicrafts, offering visitors a glimpse of Assam’s rich cultural heritage.
To enhance the experience, cultural performances by various local communities were organized, reflecting the vibrant and inclusive spirit of the region. The event serves not only as a marketplace but also as a platform for cross-cultural exchange and community engagement.
The Zila Udyam Samagam is a significant step in promoting local businesses and artisans, empowering them to achieve sustainable growth while preserving the region’s traditional crafts and cultural identity.
