Arvind Kejriwal faces FIR for misusing public funds.

The Delhi Police filed an FIR against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly violating the Public Property Act. Following a court directive on March 11, police are investigating claims that public funds were misused for hoardings in Dwarka in 2019.

FIRs were ordered against former MLA Gulab Singh and ex-Dwarka councilor Nitika Sharma for putting up oversized banners, following a complaint by Shiv Kumar Saxena and evidence provided in court. The directive for an FIR against Kejriwal and others was issued by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neha Mittal on March 11.

The court ruled against unauthorized hoardings as they mar the city’s beauty and pose traffic risks. The case falls under the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007. Fatalities from fallen hoardings prompted stronger action, as past incidents showed the dangers involved.
