Dhemaji, Assam | February 21, 2025 – As part of the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative, a two-day Zila Udyam Samagam (MSME Mela-2025) was inaugurated today in Dhemaji, in collaboration with Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd., Guwahati, Assam and the District Administration and the District Industries & Commerce Centre (DI&CC), Dhemaji, under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
The event was officially inaugurated by Shri Tulan Konwar, Chairperson of the District Development Authority, in the presence of several distinguished guests, including Shri Rahul Suresh Javir, IAS, District Commissioner of Dhemaji, Shri Hitesh Ch. Ray, APS, Superintendent of Police, Dhemaji, the Chairpersons of Dhemaji and Silapathar Municipality Boards, ADCs of Dhemaji, GM(i/c), DI&CC, officers and staff of the District Administration, Deputy Manager of ASIDC Ltd. Shri Akhil Narayan Baruah , DICC officers and staff, as well as representatives from various line departments and entrepreneurs from across the district.
The MSME Mela-2025 aims to promote and support local entrepreneurs, offering them a platform to showcase their products and services, connect with potential buyers, and explore new business opportunities.
In addition to the MSME stalls, the event featured several technical sessions tailored for entrepreneurs, students, self-help groups (SHGs), and farmers. These sessions were conducted by expert resource persons from NABARD, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), and banks, providing valuable insights on business development, financial assistance, and market expansion strategies. Additionally, Udyam Registration camps were organized to facilitate MSME registration and support aspiring entrepreneurs in formalizing their businesses.
Speaking at the event, Shri Tulan Konwar highlighted the importance of MSMEs in driving local economic growth and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship in Assam. Shri Rahul Suresh Javir, IAS, praised the initiative for creating a conducive environment for small businesses and startups, while Shri Hitesh Ch. Ray, APS, emphasized the need for collaborative efforts in promoting self-employment and rural industries.
The Zila Udyam Samagam (MSME Mela-2025) is expected to attract a large number of visitors, facilitating business networking, skill development, and knowledge sharing.
