Adityanath claims Sambhal predates Islam, stating the truth.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath stated that Sambhal was referenced in scriptures dating back over 5,000 years, suggesting it predates Islam. He finds it unacceptable to disregard someone’s beliefs, highlighting the historical significance of Sambhal, which he claims was home to a temple of Hari Vishnu destroyed in 1526.

Speaking in Lucknow at ‘Manthan: Kumbh and Beyond,’ Adityanath highlighted the historical significance of Sambhal, noting its mention in 5,000-year-old scriptures that foreshadow Lord Vishnu’s future incarnation. He contrasted this with Islam’s emergence 1,400 years ago and cited the centuries-old evidence, including the demolition of a Lord Vishnu temple in Sambhal in 1526 and the destruction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya in 1528.

He stated that ‘Bhagwa’ represents his identity and Sanatan Dharma, believing that one day the world will embrace it. As a yogi, he respects all religions but won’t tolerate occupation of worship places. He stressed the importance of identifying and protecting pilgrimage sites in Sambhal, with only 18 out of 68 discovered so far.

In Sambhal, tensions rose as a mosque faced a survey linked to a demolished temple. Adityanath criticized Congress for opposing the Maha Kumbh, citing historic chaos and corruption. He blamed Congress for past unrest at Kumbh Melas, asserting over 1,000 casualties in 1954. Yogi claimed such issues continued at subsequent Kumbh Melas.
