Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to poach AAP candidates before Delhi election results. Kejriwal claimed 16 AAP candidates were offered ₹15 crore each to switch to BJP, promising ministerial positions. He stated, “16 candidates were offered ₹15 crores if they joined BJP and left AAP to become ministers.”
Delhi Minister Ahlawat supported Kejriwal’s claims, stating he declined a ₹15 crore offer to join another party because of his loyalty to AAP. He shared details in an online post, mentioning a call he received offering a minister position in their government in exchange for leaving AAP.
The BJP denies the allegations, stating that it reflects AAP’s frustration over a potential electoral loss. Delhi chief Sachdeva requested an apology from AAP’s Singh for his similar claims, warning of legal consequences if not retracted. He highlighted that Kejriwal is currently involved in a defamation case.
AAP leaders raised concerns of electoral malpractices to the ECI, alleging hooliganism and voter suppression by the BJP and Delhi Police. The ECI promised strict action against misconduct and emphasized a fair voting process. Most exit polls predict a BJP comeback.
