In the 2025 Wimbledon men’s singles semi-finals, top-ranked Jannik Sinner will face Serbian legend Novak Djokovic on July 11 at Centre Court. Sinner has been in excellent form, winning every match in straight sets, but Djokovic’s stamina remains a formidable factor. The two players recently met in the French Open semi-final.
Sinner has a four-match winning streak against Djokovic, with their most recent match being the Roland Garros semi-final, which Sinner won in straight sets. Overall, Sinner leads their head-to-head record 5-4. Although Djokovic initially dominated their matchups by winning the first three, Sinner turned the tide at the 2023 ATP Finals, but Djokovic ultimately claimed victory in the tournament final.
The two players have faced each other four times in Grand Slam tournaments, with the overall record evenly split at 2-2. Djokovic secured consecutive wins over Sinner at Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023. In 2023, Sinner ended Djokovic’s 28-match winning streak at the Australian Open and later defeated him at Roland Garros in 2025.
Earlier this year, Sinner defeated Djokovic in the French Open semi-final with scores of 6-4, 7-5, 7-6(3). Djokovic, meanwhile, reached his 51st Grand Slam semi-final. According to Opta, Sinner is only the second Italian in the Open Era to advance to the men’s singles final at Roland Garros, the first being Adriano Panatta in 1976.
Djokovic is striving to reach his 38th Grand Slam singles final, a feat only Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have achieved with over 30 appearances. He is also pursuing his 25th Grand Slam victory, which would break the record for the most major titles held by any player, male or female, surpassing Margaret Court. Additionally, Djokovic aims to tie Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles.
Sinner is seeking to reach his fourth consecutive Grand Slam final. He secured the 2024 US Open title and also won the Australian Open earlier this year, but he was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz in the French Open final.
As noted, Sinner has not lost a set at the 2025 Wimbledon, defeating Luca Nardi, Aleksandar Vukic, Pedro Martínez, and Ben Shelton. He also advanced after receiving a walkover from Grigor Dimitrov, who was leading 6-3, 7-5, 2-2 at the time. On the other hand, Djokovic has beaten Alexandre Muller, Dan Evans, Miomir Kecmanovic, Alex de Minaur, and Flavio Cobolli, with only two of those victories coming in straight sets.
